Happy 91st birthday to the (HSVC) Humane Society of Ventura County in Ojai, Ca! They celebrated with a community paw-ty event at the shelter (402 Bryant St, Ojai, CA) with a ticketed fund-raiser dinner on June 9th to benefit the shelter and a complimentary community event on June 10th, 2023 with great food, beverages, live music, vendors, and more! We appreciate all that volunteered, attended, donated all those that help throughout the year, the adoptions and much much more. Let’s keep it going Ventura County! Kirby Subaru was proud to be a part of this wonderful community event.

Kirby Subaru Ventura Donates Funds and Food to the HSVC!
The HSVC would like to extend a big thank you to Kirby Subaru of Ventura for donating food and funds to our shelter as part of the Subaru Loves Pets program! Bruce Holley (left) from Kirby Subaru of Ventura stopped by the shelter to drop off the truckload of goods, which included Pedigree wet and dry dog food, dog treats, and a large monetary donation. Assistant Shelter Director Arlene MacSween (middle), Director of Community Outreach Greg Cooper (right), and shelter dog Maso were on hand to receive the donation.
Bruce Holley, Jeff Sukay (not pictured), and the rest of the Kirby Subaru of Ventura team have been long time supporters of the HSVC. This donation was made in honor of what would have been our 88th birthday Open House, which we were unable to put on due to COVID-19. The food and funds will be used to help feed the animals under our care and help pet owners in need throughout our community. Thank you to Bruce and all our friends at Kirby Subaru of Ventura for your constant support over the years!

Prior to the devastating Thomas Fire, here in Ventura County, there were 81 animals at the Ojai Shelter. During the fires these numbers would grow to over 300 evacuated animals of all kinds and 12 strays. While most of these animals have been returned to their homes or adopted, the Animal Shelter works never stops.
Approximately 95% of contributions are spent on programs and services that directly benefit these animals. Visit www.hsvc.org/donate to help Greg and his amazing team continue their dedication of promoting health, safety, compassionate care, and protection of all animals through education and community outreach programs.
